Curriculum
The curriculum, including curriculum outcomes, provided by a registered non-government school must comply with the requirements set out in Part 3 of the Act relating to:
(i) in the case of a school providing primary education – the minimum curriculum for a school providing primary education, or
(ii) in the case of a school providing secondary education for children during Year 7 to Year 10 – the minimum curriculum for a school providing any such secondary education, or
(iii) in the case of a school providing secondary education for children during Year 11 and Year 12 – the curriculum for students who are candidates for the Higher School Certificate.
If a proposed new secondary school intends to enter candidates for the Record of School Achievement and/or the Higher School Certificate, the proposed new school must meet the curriculum requirements for accreditation.
A non-government school may be registered to deliver one or more of the following:
- Primary education
- Secondary education for registration only
- Curriculum for the Record of School Achievement (see Initial accreditation)
- Curriculum for the Higher School Certificate (see Initial accreditation)
- Education of a kind, or for children of a kind, prescribed by the Regulations.
