How long does it take to register a non-government school?
Details of the timelines for submitting applications are explained in section 7 of the Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual and Section 9 of the Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual. It takes approximately nine (9) months for NESA to process an application for renewal of registration. Applications for initial registration are processed within six months.
When do I need to apply?
The following timelines apply:
- for proposed new schools - by 31 March in the year prior to the intended date for commencement
- for proposed new Year(s) of schooling - by 31 March in the year prior to the intended date for commencement
- for renewal - by 31 March in the year the current registration/accreditation is due to expire.
