Registration and Accreditation of Non-government Schools (RANGS)

RANGS Online

This website provides information about the registration and accreditation of non-government schools in NSW.

The NSW Education Standards Authority ('NESA') is responsible for providing advice and making recommendations to the Minister for Education about the registration of non-government schools and for making decisions about the accreditation of non-government schools to present candidates for the Record of School Achievement and Higher School Certificate.

Registered and accredited non-government schools, and registration systems, must abide by the Education Act 1990.

The requirements for registration and accreditation are detailed in the following Manuals, one for individual non-government schools, the other for systems of non-government schools and schools belonging to a system.

This website supports the manuals by providing information about the registration in an easy to access format.

Resources

NESA has developed a range of support materials for schools, available on the NESA website.

Information on this site and in the manuals should be read in conjunction with the Education Act 1990 and, where applicable, the NESA Assessment, Certification and Examination (ACE) website and NESA syllabuses for Kindergarten to Year 10 and Years 11 and 12.
