Recognition of Schools Outside NSW

This website provides information about the recognition of schools outside NSW to present candidates for the NSW Record of School Achievement and/or Higher School Certificate under Sections 94 and 95 of the Education Act 1990.

The NSW Education Standards Authority (‘NESA’) is responsible for providing advice and making recommendations to the Minister of Education about the recognition of schools outside NSW.

The requirements for recognition are detailed in the Manual.

The Manual sets out information on the application process, the criteria that are applied to applications and contains the application forms to be submitted to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for assessment and approval.

This Manual should be read in conjunction with the Education Act and, as applicable, NESA’s syllabuses, Assessment Certification Examination (ACE) website and NESA’s Official Notices.
